Happy 4th of July!

I hope everyone had an excellent 4th of July celebration!

Sam and I went over to the Klump/Ward/DiDio annual Indepencance Day party in Whitmore Lake the evening of the 3rd. It was a good time topped off with the Whitmore Lake Fireworks Spectacular. The fireworks were definitely better than last year, although they've been better in years past.

Actual Independance Day Sam and I seized on the opportunity to sleep in, then had homemade Belgian waffles topped with Michigan strawberries with the Steenbergen parents. Sam and I spent much of the day unpacking the downstairs area (updated pictures are coming), though we found time to relax and read for a bit too. For dinner we had a patriotic BBQ with the Steenbergen parents with tasty lamb (and regular) brats, pasta salad, cajun corn, and other all-American favorites. Sam and I biked to Mickey's Dairy Twist (the local ice cream joint) for dessert, and then capped off the evening with a trip to the movies. We saw Spiderman 3 on the IMAX- not so much because we wanted the IMAX experience; more because it was the only screen still showing Spiderman 3. Unfortunately IMAX moves are $2.50 more than regular movies. Oh well...it was still a good time.

Oooooooooo, Mike will be jealous! He's been DYING to see Spiderman 3, but we don't know who we could ask to babysit and I'm just not up to bringing her with us. :(
