Fuji-San!

I was probably most excited (after seeing my sister, of course) to see & climb Mt. Fuji during out trip to Japan. Here are pictures from Gotemba (the town we stayed in) and our ascent of Fuji-san.

This is the view from our hotel room window. Not too shabby. If only that tall building weren't there...

The night we arrived in Gotemba we looked around for a restaurant and settled on this place because it sounded like it had good food, but probably more importantly it advertised an English menu. It became quite clear that either American English has really diverged from England English or the translator has about the same understanding of English that I do of Japanese. Click on the picture for a larger, readable image. You won't regret it.

Once we deciphered the directions, the food was pretty good. There's nothing quite like rubbing a chunk of animal fat on the grill before setting your meat on it. In all seriousness, the food was pretty tasty. We weren't sure if we were wearing the bibs properly or if we looked like stupid tourists, but then we realized we looked like stupid tourists regardless of the bibs. :) Posted by Picasa
